Getting Ready for barcamp Ghana
Sun, Dec 21, 2008
I received My official email from the barcamp 08 Ghana committee. It is as follows :
Greetings, We are all excited about BarCamp Ghana 08 on Monday the 22nd of
December. Thank you for RSVPing, it gives us an indication of how many people
to plan and budget for. BarCamp Ghana 08 would start at 8:15am at the Kofi
Annan Centre of Excellence for ICT, located near the Parliament/State House.
Please make it a point to be early because we’ll be giving away BarCamp Ghana
T-shirts at a small donation (GhC 5) and we have a limited amount. We have an
agenda that runs till 6pm so it is imperative to start on time so that
everything runs smoothly. Water would be provided all day as well as some
small foods during the networking/lunch period. If you want to organize a
breakout session concerning a topic, for example, making better Ghanaian
movies or educational reform, start preparing. We’ll have a leader and a
note-taker for each session. Bring a laptop if you have to present/show
something or a pen drive to borrow someone else’s. We have about 132
registered participants and are expecting more. Tell your friends and
colleagues to RSVP on the website, registration is still open. See you on
Monday, Tsooboi!
What is a BarCamp? Wikipedia’s description is “BarCamp is an international network of user generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats.

I was there yesterday but I am not sure I saw you. Did we meet?
Hi David,
I remember seeing you there during the introduction of the various leaders for the breakout session. If my memory serves me right you lead a discussion on mobile technology. I couldn’t stay for the breakout session because i had to travel to the Ashanti Region.
Thanks for your comments.
Nice post. I favorited your blog and your rss feed.
